RVmagnetics is proud to announce its selection to join the NATO Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) 2025 cohort. This prestigious opportunity underscores the company’s position at the forefront of deep-tech innovation, particularly in the field of advanced sensing technologies. From over 2,600 applications across NATO member countries, only 75 innovators were chosen to participate in the DIANA Accelerator Programme, placing RVmagnetics among an elite group driving dual-use technology solutions to meet critical defense and security challenges.
The NATO DIANA Accelerator Programme has rapidly expanded its scope and impact since its inception. In 2023, 44 companies from 19 countries were selected for pilot challenges, ranging from Energy Resilience and Secure Information Sharing to Sensing & Surveillance. Building on this foundation, the 2024 cohort grew to 75 members, including a record 10 participants from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), and for the first time, two companies from Slovakia – RVmagnetics and Sensible Biotechnologies. This year’s selection process, which included proposals addressing five critical domains—Critical Infrastructure and Logistics, Energy and Power, Data and Information Security, Human Health and Performance, and Sensing and Surveillance—culminated in RVmagnetics’ acceptance into the Sensing and Surveillance challenge.
DIANA’s mission extends beyond merely fostering innovation; it actively equips startups with resources, expertise, and connections within NATO’s strategic and defense networks. Companies like RVmagnetics not only gain access to NATO’s extensive ecosystem but also engage with leaders in the defense sector, paving the way for meaningful collaborations and technological advancements.
At the core of RVmagnetics’ success is its patented technology that redefines the standards of sensing. By leveraging bistable magnetic microwires, the company has developed a revolutionary sensing method that analyzes the time signatures of unique signals, bypassing traditional reliance on amplitude-based detection. This approach enables contactless, precise, and real-time monitoring of critical parameters like temperature, stress, and vibration. Crucially, RVmagnetics’ solutions operate in challenging or otherwise inaccessible environments, making them indispensable for applications in aviation, automotive, and defense and other industries.
Participation in DIANA will allow RVmagnetics to accelerate its technological roadmap, access cutting-edge testing facilities, and collaborate with defense industry leaders. These advancements are expected to enhance NATO’s operational capabilities while opening new markets and opportunities for the company’s groundbreaking solutions.
Established in 2023, the NATO DIANA Accelerator Programme accelerates dual-use innovation to address the Alliance’s most pressing defense and security needs. DIANA operates across NATO’s 32 member nations, engaging startups and innovators in a dynamic ecosystem of entrepreneurship and technology development, protecting its one billion citizens. The programme focuses on five critical challenge areas: Critical Infrastructure and Logistics, Energy and Power, Data and Information Security, Human Health and Performance, and Sensing and Surveillance.
DIANA’s Accelerator Programme comprises rigorous boot camps, hands-on mentorship, and access to NATO’s expansive innovation network, enabling participants to refine their technologies for real-world defense applications. The program’s phased approach ensures that only the most promising solutions advance to Phase II, where they are further adapted to meet the unique needs of defense and security operations.
