3D printing (or Additive Manufacturing) is the computer-controlled process of material layering materials to create three-dimensional object. Raw materials used for additive manufacturing (3D printing) range from plastics/polymers, ceramics, concrete, metal powders and others. Name „Additive“ comes from the build process that adds raw material to create a new item. A 3D object is printed based on a 3D digital model typically drawn or scanned to computer-aided design (CAD).
RVmagnetics MicroWire sensors are suitable to become part of such 3D printed products, parts or materials. They can be seamlessly incorporated into the structures or layers to help retrieve data from the material and thus smartify it.
